全国人大常委会专题询问保障性住房情况，住房和城乡建设部部长姜伟新在会上指出，楼市限购政策是个行政办法，是不得已而采取的办法。姜伟新表示，目前正在努力建设城镇个人住房信息系统，准备先在四十个城市进行试点。请看《中国日报》的报道：
While admitting that limiting home purchases was the "last resort" of the government to curb rising property prices, Jiang told lawmakers during an inquiry meeting that the restrictions will be "phased out" upon the establishment of a national housing information system.
姜伟新承认，楼市限价政策是政府为控制上涨房价不得已而采取的办法，他在人大常委会专题询问会上表示，随着全国住房信息系统的建立，会逐步取消限购政策。
上文报道中的housing information system就是目前还在筹备过程中的“住房信息系统”，住建部计划先在40个pilot cities（试点城市）建立这一信息系统。此举是为了increase the transparency of the property market（增加楼市透明度），有助于防止excessive price swings（价格过度波动）。
应对高房价，政府一面通过推出affordable houses（经济适用房）、price-capped houses（限价房）、public rental housing（公租房）、low-rent apartments（廉租房）来缓解住房难问题，另一面又通过限购政策来遏制投机，同时避免楼市的hard landing（硬着陆）。
